Scope
The refurbishment of the Morrie Evans Wing at Benalla Health delivered:
- 16 new single rooms with private ensuites
- 14 refurbished rooms with private ensuites
- television connections and access to the internet
- outdoor gardens and enclosed patio areas, including barbeque facilities
- improvements to the kitchen servery and dining room
- a new sunroom and activities room
- a new Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) office and nurses' station
- support areas, including pan room, cleaners’ and store rooms.
Benefits
The Morrie Evans Wing refurbishment aimed to provide the following benefits:
Privacy
Residents at Morrie Evans Wing now have more privacy with new private rooms and ensuites. Private rooms also improves the experience for family and friends visiting residents.
Community
A new sunroom and enclosed activity room, refurbished dining room and outdoor gardens and enclosed patio areas with barbeque facilities will improve social interaction for residents.
Safety
A new central nurses’ station provides improved staff work areas and ease of access to patients. While modern and spacious ensuites provides easier maneuverability for caring for patients enabling staff to provide care more safely.
