Community members were invited to come along to our local drop-in information sessions to learn more about their bigger, better Ballarat Base Hospital.

About these sessions

The sessions were an opportunity to:

  • ask us about construction and what's being delivered
  • see the latest designs
  • find out what's coming up on-site
  • pick up a kids' colouring sheet and high-vis vest
  • meet the team behind the $655 million build.

These sessions were free to attend, and no registration was required. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Community members were invited to come along to our local drop-in information sessions to learn more about their bigger, better Ballarat Base Hospital.

Once completed, Ballarat Base Hospital will have the capacity to treat at least 18,000 more emergency patients and an extra 14,500 inpatients per year. The redevelopment will be completed over multiple stages.]

About your bigger, better Ballarat Base Hospital

Stage three of the Ballarat Base Hospital redevelopment has now begun. Stage three will deliver the new multi-level tower featuring:

  • a new emergency department
  • a women's and children's hub
  • a world-class theatre suite
  • an extra 100 inpatient and short-stay beds
  • a new helipad.

Construction of the new tower is expected to be completed in 2027.
