Ambulance branches open in Port Fairy and Winchelsea

More Victorians can now access improved emergency care with the opening this week of the Port Fairy ambulance branch and the Winchelsea ambulance branch.

Port Fairy locals received a revamped station and Winchelsea was delivered a brand new ambulance station – the first in town, ever.

A new ambulance station for Port Fairy

The new Port Fairy ambulance station replaces the old local branch. The 40 year-old former station’s ageing facilities and reverse-in ambulance access were posing safety risks for paramedics.

The new state-of-the-art station, on Regent Street, has a three-bay drive in-and-out garage bay and training facilities. It also has spaces to support hard-working paramedics – rest and recline rooms, a fully fitted kitchen, and staff car parking.

Its location on the site of Moyne Health Services means that locals can receive more connected care between their local doctors, nurses and paramedics.

Winchelsea’s first ever ambulance branch

Winchelsea’s first ambulance station, on Willis Street, will give locals even better access to our life-saving paramedics.

The spacious new branch has a four-bay drive in-and-out garage bay. Like the Port Fairy branch, it will support paramedics with training facilities, rest and recline rooms, a fully-fitted kitchen and staff car parking.

The new branch is located on the gateway to major tourist destinations and the Great Ocean Road, so it will make a difference to emergency responses on the Surf Coast, and to Colac and Geelong.

More paramedics, more vehicles and more stations

Victoria is growing, and so is our demand for emergency healthcare.

New and upgraded ambulance stations will help support the paramedics who support us – when we need it the most.

The Victorian Government has invested $1 billion to deliver more paramedics, more vehicles and more stations, including $299 million in the Victorian Budget 2019/20.
