Bendigo Health and Peter MacCallum continue partnership

The new $630 million Bendigo Hospital opened its doors in January 2017, securing the long-term partnership between Bendigo Health and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre with the opening of the new integrated Bendigo Cancer Centre.

Peter MacCallum will continue to deliver radiotherapy services after a five year agreement was signed last year.

The new agreement represents the commitment to deliver world-class cancer treatment to regional communities, whilst working with the patients to improve their health.

'Our partnership with Bendigo Health aims to provide the very best in cancer care and latest radiation treatments for the people of Loddon Mallee, backed by the work of Peter Mac’s 500+ cancer researchers and clinicians,' says Peter Mac Chief Executive Dale Fisher.

One of the first prevention initiatives supported by the new agreement will be tobacco-related cancers, with local patients continuing to benefit from receiving treatment close to home.
