It’s been a busy start to the year at the Maryborough and District Health Hospital. A builder has been appointed and construction is now underway on a new accommodation facility for healthcare students and trainees.
The more than $4 million project, funded through the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund, will deliver:
- 20 single bedrooms
- communal living, kitchen and dining areas
- landscaped gardens.
Builder SJ Weir will construct the facility.
The new accommodation complements state-of-the-art training facilities and education programs already on offer in Maryborough. The facility will help more undergraduate and postgraduate students kick-start their careers in the healthcare sector.
