The Changing Places program has moved to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
Our Changing Places initiative has been building momentum throughout October, with openings, sod turns, and a Marveloo making an appearance at the Invictus Games, in Sydney.
Melton Waves Leisure Centre in conjunction with the City of Melton officially opened their Changing Places facility. The purpose built toilet with ceiling hoist and adult size change table will enable people with a disability to fully participate in the centre’s activities.
The City of Ballarat has complimented its existing permanent Changing Places toilet with the opening of a Marveloo (a mobile accessible restroom), which will be based at North Gardens, Ballarat over the summer months.
Maroondah City Council and Mitchell Shire Council held sod turns to mark the start of construction of Changing Places at their respective locations: Croydon Town Square and the Community Bank Adventure Playground in Wallan.
And the most high profile event of all this month: Maroondah City Council’s Marveloo took pride of place at Sydney Olympic Park, servicing people with high support needs at the Invictus Games!
