Construction begins on ambulance branches at Ararat, Inglewood and Rochester
Construction is officially underway on new and upgraded ambulance branches at Ararat, Inglewood and Rochester.
This means paramedics will have the facilities and support they need to respond quickly to local emergencies.
Ararat
Work has started on a refurbishment of the Ararat ambulance branch on Basham Street, Ararat.
The bigger and better facility will feature:
- a new Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) covered space
- new medical and delivery storage
- improved training facilities and amenities for paramedics.
The Ararat ambulance branch upgrades are expected to be completed in the second half of 2022.

Inglewood
Construction has kicked off on a multi-million-dollar ambulance branch on Hospital Street in Inglewood.
The project will involve knocking down the outdated building on the current Inglewood ambulance branch site on Hospital Street. A new, fit for purpose branch will be built in its place.
The new branch will include:
- a three-bay ambulance garage
- two rest and recline areas
- training facilities
- a fully equipped kitchen
- improved security and car parking for staff.
The new Inglewood ambulance branch is expected to be completed in late 2022.

Rochester
Construction is underway on a new multi-million-dollar ambulance branch on Mackay Street, Rochester.
The project will involve knocking down the existing and outdated ambulance branch on Mackay Street. A new, fit for purpose branch will be built in its place.
The new branch will include:
• a three-bay ambulance garage
• two rest and recline areas
• training facilities
• a fully equipped kitchen
• improved security and car parking.
The new Rochester ambulance branch is expected to be completed in late 2022.

Ambulance Victoria development program
The Victorian Government has committed around $249 million since 2015 to upgrade and rebuild ambulance branches. The new and upgraded buildings will provide better working conditions for paramedics and ensure lifesaving emergency care is available for all Victorians.
