Cranbourne Community Hospital is one step closer to providing locals with better healthcare, closer to home, with construction works now underway.
The community hospital will be located at 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East. It will be the first of ten smaller-scale public hospitals built across Victoria in some of the state’s fastest growing areas.
Hutchinson Builders has been appointed to kick start works on site. Works will involve undertaking bulk earthworks and creating adequate site access and parking – ready for major construction in 2022.
The facility will help take the pressure off nearby major services such as Casey Hospital. This will allow them to focus on critical care and acute health issues, emergency care and more complex surgeries and procedures.
About the project
Operated by Monash Health, the Cranbourne Community Hospital will provide expanded ‘in-demand’ services currently offered at Cranbourne Integrated Care Centre. This includes:
- after-hours urgent care for minor injuries and illnesses
- day surgery
- paediatric services
- dialysis
- community mental health services.
Final designs are expected to be released in mid-2022. Construction on the Cranbourne Community Hospital is expected to be complete in 2024.
