2024-25 round of the Engineering Infrastructure Replacement Program now open

We’ve opened the latest round of the Engineering Infrastructure Replacement Program.

We invite health services from across Victoria to apply for a share in $40 million funding as part of the 2024-25 round.

About the Engineering Infrastructure Replacement Program (EIRP)

The EIRP is now worth $305 million overall. The program provides government funding to upgrade or replace essential engineering infrastructure for acute services in public hospitals.

The program aims to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability of our public hospitals. This helps to:

  • reduce risks to patients and healthcare workers
  • improve service availability.

What types of equipment are funded?

The types of infrastructure items funded through the program include:

  • chillers
  • fire detection systems
  • alarm systems
  • water mains.

Previously funded projects

Some of the projects previously funded through the EIRP include:

  • $713,000 to deliver an upgraded nurse call system at University Hospital, Geelong
  • $1.5 million to replace water reticulation valves and piping at LaTrobe Regional Hospital in Traralgon.
