Located in growing communities across Victoria, community hospitals – like what we’re building in the heart of Pakenham at 5 Drake Place – are public hospitals that give people who are not critically unwell better access to everyday health services, closer to home.
About the Pakenham Community Hospital
The Pakenham Community Hospital will be managed by Monash Health. It will include two levels of clinical spaces providing a number of services including:
- allied health and rehabilitation
- diagnostics like pathology and imaging
- public dental
- chemotherapy
- dialysis
- urgent care.
Its third level will include a plantroom for mechanical equipment.
Key benefits
- More services, central location: the Pakenham Community Hospital will expand the services currently offered at the Pakenham Community Health Centre on a new site
- Urgent care: access to walk-in healthcare for when it’s serious but not life threatening
- Everyday healthcare, closer to home: more treatment options for locals with dialysis, oncology, public dental and diagnostic services under the one roof
- Convenient hours: open longer hours, but not all night.
Construction
Demolition and site preparation works began in mid-November 2024 – paving the way for major construction on the Pakenham Community Hospital to start.
