The $1.1 billion Frankston Hospital redevelopment is on track, with main works now past the halfway point.
Construction of the new hospital tower is progressing well and expected to be complete in late 2025. Suspended concrete slabs have been poured for the first seven floors and formwork is progressing on the eighth level.
To date, the project has seen:
- 29,000 cubic metres of concrete poured
- 4,000 tonnes of steel installed
- 445 precast panels installed
- 715,000 hours worked
- 2,037 workers inducted onto the site (and about 450 workers currently on-site every day).
Multi-deck carpark
The new multi-deck carpark has reached its highest point at seven floors. The installation of internal services on the lower floors is well underway. Works have also started on the carpark's facade.
Emergency department
The emergency department refurbishment and expansion, part of the redevelopment, continues to progress. These works are now focused on construction of a new short stay unit and the new emergency department entrance.
Please note the emergency department remains open at all times.
