Goulburn Valley families now have better access to world-class baby, children’s and emergency care at Goulburn Valley Health’s Shepparton Hospital.
The latest stage of the $229.3 million redevelopment has delivered:
- a new 10-cot special care nursery
- a 12-bed paediatric ward
- an emergency department expansion.
A 12-bed maternity unit and upgraded birthing suite are also complete, ensuring more local mums can give birth closer to home, family and loved ones.
The expanded emergency department includes 36 treatment spaces. These include nine short-stay beds for patients who need care for less than 24 hours.
The expansion doubles existing capacity. It also boasts the latest technology with:
- two new x-ray rooms
- a CT scan room
- an ultrasound room.
