Families now have better access to essential healthcare services, with the expansion of the emergency department complete at Goulburn Valley Health’s Shepparton Hospital.
The new emergency department will double capacity, ensuring world-class facilities and care are available to the community in an emergency.
Added to the newly expanded emergency department at Goulburn Valley Health – Shepparton Hospital is a new four-bed paediatric emergency department, nine short-stay beds and four flexi beds.
The bigger emergency department has the latest technology including:
- two new x-ray rooms
- a CT scan room
- ultrasound room.
Goulburn Valley Health - Shepparton Hospital redevelopment
The new, expanded emergency department is part of a $229.3 million redevelopment at Goulburn Valley Health.
The redevelopment has so far delivered:
- a four-bed paediatric emergency department
- nine short stay beds
- four flexi beds
- a five-storey inpatient unit, including 10 intensive care unit beds, 64 inpatient beds and four new operating theatres
- a single-storey, 16-bed dialysis unit
- an upgraded 12-bed maternity unit and birthing suite
- a 10-cot special care nursery and paediatric ward.
