The Frankston Hospital redevelopment and Royal Children’s Hospital expansion have both been recognised in the 2023 Partnerships Awards.
The Frankston Hospital redevelopment was highly commended in the Best Healthcare Project category. The Royal Children’s Hospital expansion was highly commended in the Best Operational Project - Healthcare & Education category.
The international Partnerships Awards have been running for more than 20 years. They are a prestigious celebration of excellence in public private partnership (PPP) projects.
More than 25 industry experts from both the public and private sectors made up the judging panel. The panel members were selected based on their expertise, experience and integrity in the PPP market.
The commendations acknowledge the collaboration of the project teams. They also celebrate the positive impacts the PPP model will deliver for Victorians.
About the Frankston Hospital redevelopment
The $1.1 billion Frankston Hospital redevelopment will transform services at the hospital. It will deliver:
- a new 12-storey clinical services tower and main entrance
- 130 more beds
- new spaces for mental health and oncology services
- 15 new operating theatres.

About the Royal Children’s Hospital expansion project
The Victorian Government is investing $49.4 million to expand the Royal Children’s Hospital. This expansion includes more acute paediatric beds and emergency department services.
