Mernda and surrounding areas will now be able to receive faster response times to life-threatening medical emergencies with the opening of Mernda’s $4.1 million state-of-the-art ambulance branch.
Located within the heart of the community, the new purpose-built branch is home to a 24-hour ambulance team and a daily clinic transport service. It also features training facilities, rest and recline rooms, a fully fitted kitchen, four dedicated ambulance bays and staff car parking.
The new ambulance branch is a welcome boost for local paramedics, who up until now have served the community from nearby locations in Wallan, Diamond Creek and Epping. With the Mernda area experiencing high levels of growth, a dedicated branch was required to keep pace with community need.
The Victorian Government has invested $181.8 million for Ambulance Victoria capital projects since 2015-16, reflecting a strong commitment to providing modern, fit-for-purpose accommodation for paramedics.
