New ambulance branches open in Sale, Traralgon and Murchison
Sale, Traralgon, Murchison and surrounding communities will receive faster emergency care now that three new state-of-the-art ambulance branches have officially opened their doors.
The new ambulance branches provide paramedics with modern, purpose-built facilities and were delivered as part of the Ambulance Victoria Capital Upgrades Project, committed to upgrade and rebuild high priority ambulance stations across the state.
The new Sale ambulance branch on Cunningham Street replaces a 50-year-old building and now features a spacious and functional garage for vehicles and modern facilities for paramedics including lounge areas, a kitchen, training room and office accommodation. The new branch is home to 32 paramedics from six teams, including highly-trained mobile intensive care ambulance paramedics.
In Traralgon, paramedics are relocating to their new home base in Princes Street, leaving behind an ambulance station that was more than 30-years-old and too small for increased demands.
The new four-bed, four-bay ambulance branch in Murchison includes space for training, office accommodation, rest rooms for rostering flexibility and modern amenities comprising a fully-fitted kitchen and relaxation areas. Located in Watson Street, the Murchison ambulance branch is home to three paramedics and ten ambulance community officers who provide 24-7 emergency care to people in Murchison, Rushworth and beyond.
With these new, modern and efficient facilities, response times will continue to improve and more lives will be saved as the community gets the emergency care they need, sooner.
