New Bacchus Marsh ambulance branch opens

Minister for Ambulance Services Jenny Mikakos today opened the new Bacchus Marsh ambulance branch on Gisborne Road.

The new building replaces the old local branch. Built in the 1960s, the former ambulance station was on a block of land that was too narrow for redevelopment.

Located now on a larger site, the new branch is spacious and purpose-built and includes:

• training facilities
• four rest and recline rooms
• a fully fitted kitchen
• five-bay garage
• improved security
• a staff car park.

Paramedics will provide 24-hour coverage from their new home base. They’ll have the safe and modern facilities they need to respond to emergencies faster – and save lives.
