New Diamond Creek ambulance branch opens
Diamond Creek and surrounding areas will now have access to round-the-clock emergency care and faster response times with the opening of a new $2.5 million state-of-the-art ambulance branch.
Located on Main Hurstbridge Road, this purpose-built facility is Diamond Creek’s first ever stand-alone ambulance station. It features a drive in-and-out garage bay for up to four vehicles, rest and recline areas, training rooms, modern amenities, a fully fitted out kitchen and staff car parking.
The new ambulance branch is a welcome boost for local paramedics, who up until now have been serving the community from a co-located facility with police and fire services. The size and speed of growth in the area meant a bigger, purpose-built ambulance station was required to keep pace with community need.
Funded through the Ambulance Victoria Capital Upgrades Project, the new Diamond Creek ambulance station is part of a $500 million investment by the Victorian Government which is designed to improve ambulance response times and ensure paramedics are supported to care for communities now and into the future.
