Parents in the Goulburn Valley and surrounding communities will soon have greater access to early parenting support, with a multi-million-dollar early parenting centre to be built in Shepparton.
The Victorian Government is investing an extra $25 million in early parenting centres, bringing the total investment for the program to $148 million.
The additional funding will support the delivery of this much-needed, state-of-the-art facility for Victoria’s north.
The centre will provide parents and carers with the tailored advice and care they need to enhance their parent-child relationships and achieve their parenting goals.
Support services will include:
- assistance with sleep and settling
- support with feeding
- extra care for babies and toddlers with additional needs.
The Shepparton centre will include:
- 10 beds
- a shared kitchen and dining area
- a playroom
- a multi-purpose room.
The site will also feature various secure outdoor spaces with dedicated play areas. There will be calm corners for relaxing and native landscaping.
Works are expected to begin in 2024 and be completed by the end of 2025.
