The Victorian Government has invested $77.4 million to deliver a business case, purchase land and progress detailed planning for the new Melton Hospital.
Planning will include how the new Melton Hospital will link with services at other public hospitals in the western region – including Sunshine Hospital and the $1.5 billion new Footscray Hospital.
The new hospital will improve access to specialists and deliver patient care for locals in the growing and diverse communities of Caroline Springs, Rockbank, Melton Central and Bacchus Marsh.
The vacant land for the proposed facility is privately owned and is in the process of being acquired.
The Melton Hospital project is being delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority in partnership with Western Health, who will operate the new facility.
