New Watsonia ambulance branch opens

Communities in the City of Banyule now have a new state-of-the-art ambulance branch at Watsonia North.

The new Ambulance Victoria branch will operate 24 hours a day, providing vital emergency care to communities in Watsonia and surrounding suburbs.

The location of the new station on Grimshaw Street will allow ease of access to main roads and major sites including schools, shopping centres and community facilities.

The new ambulance branch features:

  • a three bay garage
  • training facilities
  • rest and recline areas
  • fully fitted kitchen
  • secure on-site staff parking.


The Ambulance Victoria development program aims to upgrade and rebuild ambulance stations to provide modern, advanced and well-located ambulance stations and better working conditions for paramedics.
