Western Health and Lendlease workers shared a paintbrush or two when they came together in St. Albans to brighten up a neighbour’s surroundings.
As part of Lendlease’s international program of Community Day activities on 14 September, workers from the new Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital project went next door to the Jackson School, ready for action.
Old brown brick walls were painted white, providing a fresh backdrop for students to decorate their school in bright splashes of colour!
The prep to year 12 government school backs onto the construction site of the new Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital and enjoys a close relationship with workers from Lendlease, the Western Health project team and the Department of Health and Human Services.
"We are overwhelmed with the generous support provided to us by the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital project teams.”
Joan O'Connor-Cox, Principal
The Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital will boost maternity and paediatric services for Melbourne’s rapidly growing western suburbs.
This brand new $200 million facility will allow more women to give birth close to home and provide world-class paediatric care for families needing children's services.
More volunteer activities are planned for the school during construction of the new hospital, which is scheduled to be completed by early 2019.
