People in Melbourne's outer west are a step closer to seeing their new Melton Hospital come to life – with a preferred consortium named.
The Exemplar Health consortium has been announced as the preferred bidder to enter exclusive contract negotiations with the Victorian Government.
The more than $900 million hospital will be delivered as a public private partnership. This involves bringing together a private consortium to design, construct, finance and maintain the new facility over a period of 25 years. Melton Hospital will be a public hospital operated by Western Health.
The Exemplar Health consortium includes:
- Capella Capital as sponsor and investor
- Lendlease Infrastructure Investments and Invesis as investors
- Lendlease as builder
- Honeywell and Compass Group as facilities and maintenance managers.
Works to prepare the Cobblebank site for major construction will start later this year following contract award. This will mark the project moving forward from the planning phase and into delivery.
Construction of your new Melton Hospital is expected to be complete in 2029.
