Cranbourne Community Hospital is one step closer with a preferred site in Cranbourne East identified for the hospital and the process to acquire the land underway.
A parcel of land at 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East has been identified as the preferred site for the new multimillion-dollar facility.
The preferred location would see the community hospital integrated within the Casey Complex, in alignment with the council’s Urban Design Framework. The location has a range of benefits including excellent transport connections and proximity to community facilities.
A public consultation process is underway and community members are invited to provide their feedback on the proposed site through conversations.casey.vic.gov.au.
Operated by Monash Health the new Cranbourne Community Hospital will expand existing services on a new site to further support the health and wellbeing needs of the local community.
The project is part of the Victorian Government’s $675 million investment to deliver 10 community hospitals to service major growth areas.
The new Cranbourne Community Hospital will provide:
- integrated community health services
- specialist appointments
- paediatric care
- mental health services
- dental services
- diagnostic pathology and imaging
- dialysis
- after-hours urgent care
- day surgery and rehabilitation services.
The new community hospital will help take the pressure off nearby major services such as Casey Hospital – enabling them to focus on critical care and acute health issues, emergency care and more complex surgeries and procedures.
Construction on the Cranbourne Community Hospital is expected to commence in late 2021 and is due to be completed in 2024.
