The 2023-24 round for the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund is now open.
The fund provides grants to eligible public health services to upgrade vital health infrastructure. This helps people in rural and regional areas to access world-class care, close to home.
More than 120 public health services and agencies are eligible for funding. The program will deliver a variety of projects across regional Victoria including:
- operating theatre refurbishments
- new waiting rooms and hospital beds
- accessible consulting rooms
- extra paths and ramps
- expansion projects
- equipment upgrades.

We encourage all eligible health services and agencies to participate by familiarising themselves with application requirements.

All submissions must be made online via SmartyGrants.
Submissions close at 5.00 pm on 11 September 2023.
About the fund
The $790 million Regional Health Infrastructure Fund provides Victorian government funding to eligible health services and agencies.
The fund will deliver $300 million over four years. This will create hundreds of local jobs and give health services and agencies the resources to undertake projects tailored to the needs of patients, staff and local communities.
The Regional Health Infrastructure Fund is the largest program of its type in Victoria, having funded 630 projects since 2016.
Recent projects funded include:
- more than $1.58 million for Grampians Health to replace ageing Central Sterile Services Department equipment at the Ballarat Base Hospital
- $580,000 to purchase a new CT scanner at Colac Area Health, ensuring vital scanning services can continue
- more than $562,000 at Gippsland Health in Lakes Entrance to install a 220-panel solar power system, providing critical back-up power during a natural disaster or other emergencies.
