The 2024-25 round of the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund is now open.
The fund provides grants to eligible public health services to upgrade vital health infrastructure. This helps people in rural and regional areas receive safe and efficient care.
A share of $75 million is available under the ninth round. More than 100 health services and agencies are eligible for funding.
The program will deliver a variety of projects across regional Victoria, including:
- operating theatre refurbishments
- new waiting rooms and hospital beds
- accessible paths and ramps
- additional consulting rooms
- expansion projects
- equipment upgrades.
Applications
We encourage all eligible health services and agencies to participate by:
- familiarising themselves with application requirements
- attending an upcoming online information webinar.

All submissions must be made online via SmartyGrants.
Submissions close on Friday 10 January 2025.
About the fund
The Regional Health Infrastructure Fund, now worth $790 million overall, provides Victorian government funding to eligible health services and agencies.
It’s the largest program of its type in Victoria and has funded more than 670 projects since 2016.
The program received a $300 million boost in the 2022-23 State Budget.
Recent projects funded include:
- more than $10.2 million for the construction of a new staff accommodation building at Goulburn Valley Health
- more than $2.6 million for upgrading the kitchen and laundry at Heathcote Hospital, plus more than $6.5 million for Heathcote Health to build a community health hub
