St Vincent’s on the Park to boost capacity

St Vincent’s on the Park, a new 84-bed facility in East Melbourne, has opened to boost the state’s capacity to treat COVID-19 patients. St Vincent’s Hospital will operate the facility.

The Victorian Government invested $30 million to recommission the former Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute to create the new facility. The project was completed in partnership with Kane Construction.

Builders worked over 60,000 hours to re-establish services like plumbing and power and ensure the building is compliant with current safety standards.

The completed project brings 84 extra hospital beds into the Victorian healthcare system. This will help to increase capacity and ensure Victorians continue to receive the very best healthcare.

Supporting the coronavirus response
