This is how kids in Melbourne’s west want their community to look. As part of the new Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital development, students from more than 20 local schools, children’s centres and neighbourhood houses in the west were asked “show us what you think a healthy, happy community looks like.”
The responses were as wonderful and varied as the community we live in. Both primary and secondary school children took part, with 162 boards being painted and used to decorate hoardings around the hospital site.
