Designs released and builder appointed: Angliss Hospital expansion

Kane Constructions has been appointed to deliver the $112 million Angliss Hospital expansion and we've released a first look at the designs.

Artist impressions reveal the exterior of the new four-storey building. They also offer a look inside the entrance and reception areas.

Designed by architectural firm Silver Thomas Hanley, the expansion will make the most of the surrounding natural environment, providing patients, visitors and staff with plenty of natural light. And the nearby Dandenong Ranges have been referenced inside the building, with colours from the local landscape used to differentiate floors and departments.

Construction to start

Kane Constructions will now start main construction works on-site. These works will first focus on demolition of the outdated East Block, clearing the site for the new building.

The expansion is expected to be complete in late 2026.

About the Angliss Hospital expansion

The Angliss Hospital expansion will deliver:

  • a new all-electric multi-storey building
  • 32 inpatient beds
  • four operating theatres
  • central sterile supply department
  • outpatient and allied health capabilities
  • more carparking spaces.

The expansion will ensure the Knox and Yarra Ranges communities can access world-class healthcare facilities close to home.
