Regional funding boost for Victoria’s west

Elmhurst and Stawell in Victoria’s north west have received a funding boost from the Victorian Government’s $250 million Regional Health Infrastructure Fund.

Critical cooling and heating systems at Stawell Regional Health will be upgraded to the tune of $2.2 million to ensure hardworking doctors and staff have the safe and modern facilities they deserve and patients can receive treatment sooner and closer to their homes.

The funding will also enable Stawell Regional Health to fit-out acute wards and operating theatres with new air handling systems to ensure more surgeries can be performed and cancellations are reduced.

The good news doesn’t stop there, Elmhurst Bush Nursing Centre has also received $27,000 from the Fund to purchase a new vehicle. The centre delivers a wide range of community health services including district nursing, GP visits, post-acute care and allied health services.

A new, reliable vehicle is essential for bush nursing centres like Elmhurst. It means vital healthcare can be delivered in time and closer to home for its often isolated communities across Elmhurst, Warrack, Landsborough, Crowlands, Amphitheatre and beyond.
