Stawell patients will get the safe, high quality care and surgeries they need thanks to a Victorian Government funding boost for Stawell Regional Health.
Funded through the Government’s $200 million Regional Health Infrastructure Fund, the Stawell based hospital will receive $2.2 million to upgrade critical cooling and heating systems throughout the facility.
Upgrade works will include replacing old chillers and hot water systems throughout the hospital with the latest technology, and installing new air handling systems in the acute wards and operating theatres.
A reliable, efficient infrastructure is vital to the functioning of a hospital. Upgrading Stawell’s cooling and heating systems will allow doctors to perform more surgeries, and reduce cancellations by increasing their capacity to meet growing demand from the local community. The Victorian Budget in 2017-18 delivered $1.67 billion to support hospitals meet demand and provide high quality care Victorian patients deserve, including $428.5 million in new hospital upgrades.
This financial year Stawell Regional Health will receive $16.756 million in funding from the Victorian Government, a 5.8 per cent increase from the previous year.
