World-class Werribee Mercy Hospital expansion complete

We’re pleased to see the new and improved Werribee Mercy Hospital is now complete!

Minister for Health Jill Hennessy has officially opened the $85 million expansion of the hospital’s intensive care unit, which will provide better access to critical care services in Melbourne’s west.

The expansion includes 64 new inpatient beds and six additional operating theatres, significantly reducing waiting times for emergency care and elective surgery. It also created a new kitchen, loading dock, and 370-space multi-level carpark.

With Wyndham’s population expected to increase by 193,000 people over 20 years, this hospital expansion was crucial to ensuring patients continue to receive the safest and highest quality care they can, close to their homes.
